Halloween murder mystery party, ready to print tonight
October 31, 1987. A Louisiana radio station throws a Halloween party, its star voice is found dead, and yet the whole station heard him on the air afterwards.
Dead Air at Midnight is our Halloween kit: twelve costumed suspects, eighteen pieces of evidence released in three acts, and a read-aloud reveal once the group names the killer. It plays with 6 to 12 guests, takes 2 to 2.5 hours, and is recommended for ages 16 and up. Your access code arrives by email within a minute of checkout, so you can buy on the 31st and play that night.
What happens on the night
Guests arrive in costume and read their character: an identity page everyone can see, then the secret sheet. The host follows the online guide and releases the evidence act by act. Everyone questions, lies within the limits of their sheet, compares the documents, and votes to accuse the killer at the end.
Costumes without a shopping trip
The party is set at a 1987 Halloween bash where the costumes are homemade, so a vampire cape, a witch hat or a sheet with eye holes is exactly right. Costumes are part of the fun, never a requirement.
Fewer than six, or more than twelve
Below six players a murder mystery party no longer works, because the lies stop crossing. A cooperative detective case file plays from 1 to 7. Above twelve, a custom scenario is written for your exact guest list.
Why choose Murder to Order?
“An incredible night. Everything was perfectly adapted to our group. We recommend it 100%.”
