Print the file as many times as you like for your own games. Run it again with a different private group without buying anything: reprinting for other private groups is explicitly allowed, which is what makes a second evening cost only paper. You may also have it printed at a print shop, since you are ordering your own copy. And you keep the PDF: the one-week window applies to the portal, not to a file you have already downloaded. Resell the file or a printed copy of it. Share it, meaning send it to anyone who has not bought it, even for free, even to a friend. And run a paid event with it without written permission first. The sharing rule is the one that matters most. A file that circulates once circulates forever, and there is no way to call it back. It is also the reason the host's guide and the reveal are not in the PDF at all: they live on the case file portal.

A club running a free evening for its members is private use and is fine. The same club selling tickets, even at cost, is a paid event and needs written permission. A bar or restaurant running a mystery night: paid event, written permission. A company running one for its own team during an offsite, with no ticketing, is private use. The test is simple: is anyone paying to be in the room. If yes, ask first. Permission for commercial use can be requested rather than assumed.

A question hosts ask often: may I email a guest their character in advance. Yes, you can send one person the two pages of their own character, and it saves time on the night. What you must never do is send the whole file to the table. It contains every character's secrets and every exhibit. That is the same logic that keeps the guide and the reveal online rather than printed at the back of the PDF.

Because the product is a digital file delivered immediately, the refund position is different from a physical order. An EU consumer has a statutory fourteen-day right of withdrawal on distance purchases, and for digital content that right ends once delivery begins with your prior express consent and your acknowledgment that you lose it, which you give when you place the order. In practice, you can withdraw before the file has been delivered by emailing with your order number.
